Nausea, Heartburn, Indigestion, Upset Stomach, Diarrhea Yea! SIBO

by DrLeAnne Deardeuff on May 12, 2014

I want to talk about a condition called small intestine bacterial overgrowth, SIBO, along with some other things that are messing up our digestion. What it is, is a condition where bacteria are present in the small intestine that shouldn't be there. Normally there is only a small amount there. I think bacteria may build up there when people take antacids that allow the bacteria to pass through the stomach without being destroyed by the acid that should be there. Another contributing factor may be anti-depressants called serotonin re-uptake inhibitors that interfere with the normal function of the intestines, because almost all of the serotonin in the body is actually made in the digestive tract. If the serotonin is knocked out, it may be that the food is not pushed along toward the colon like it should be, so the bacteria that made it through the stomach can now set up shop in the small intestine. Yeast can be involved as well as harmful bacteria. They will eat your food and steal your vitamins and minerals, and create inflammation, gas, bloating and pain. Another result of SIBO might be an inability to digest wheat and other grains. You might have a clue that you have this condition if you have a big gut roll right below the ribs.

Metal toxicity can be a contributing factor to all this too, because it harms the good bacteria that keep the yeast and bad bacteria in check. Where do you pick up metals? They're all around us. Petrochemical fumes (that means, gas and diesel exhaust, solvents and other things), metals leaching into our water supply, contaminants in food, vaccinations, chemtrails are a few sources. Metals play havoc with normal functions, especially enzymes. They can cause, along with the yeast or bacteria overgrowth, lots of inflammation. The inflammation is there to protect the small intestine wall from damage.

These same problems, along with dysbiosis, which is the lack of beneficial bacteria in the gut, also cause issues such as IBD and IBS.

So, what can we do about all this mess?

1.  Go on a Paleo diet, above all, Gluten Free Casein Free. This is until you get the gut cleaned up. I reccommend that you stay off wheat for about 18 months while clearing up the small and large intestines. Then when done you can slowly add it back in to see if you still react to it.  The inability to digest wheat is because of this inflammation. The wheat interacts with the metals and the inflammation causing more inflammation. Casein or milk protein, particularly from pasteurized  and homogenized dairy products, creates a lot of mucus in the body especially since the enzyme to digest milk has been destroyed in the processing.

2.  Use the 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse™ from Young Living. It is not a targeted cleanse, just a support while reducing inflammation. The 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse™ facilitates gentle and effective cleansing to improve overall health and well-being.*  YLO says "A minimum of four, easy cleanses a year with our 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse and continued nutritional maintenance will help balance the extremes of the modern diet."

This nutritive cleanse includes the following: NingXia Red® , an energizing, replenishing, whole wolfberry nutrient infusion (1500 ml ); Balance Complete™, a super-food-based, daily, superfood energizer and nutritive cleanse (26.4 oz.);  and Digest + Cleanse™, which soothes gastrointestinal discomfort and supports healthy digestion.
Note: The 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse™ is a starting place. More intense and targeted nutrients may be required for your particular situation. The 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse™ facilitates gentle and effective cleansing to improve overall health and well-being.

3.  It is imperative that you bring down the inflamation of the large and small intestine. While cleansing with the The 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse™  give yourself rectal injections of  Idaho Balsam Fir, Frankincense and Copaiba. Also mix 1-3 drops of those same oils with coconut milk or coconut oil or some other type of fatty oil such as almond oil, cod-liver oil, flax seed oil, olive oil, etc. You can also mix these oils in smoothies or just ingest them straight. Mixing with a fatty oil will emulsify the essential oil and assist it to bypass the acid of the stomach, allowing it to go straight to the small intestine and be absorbed into the cells there. Those three oils are great anti-inflammatory oils. Adding Melaleuca alternifolia will assist in working on the yeast that may be in the small intestine and large intestine. (See the yeast chapter in Inner Transformations Using Essential Oils.)

4.  I suggest you do the Master Cleanse for at least 10 days, preferably as long as 40 days. While you are on it, you can take ICP™ and ComforTone® to assist you in passing the toxins out of the body. (Read Tom Woloshy's book "Beyond the Master Cleanse" and also the Master Cleanse chapter in "Inner Transformations Using Essential Oils.") Continue to use the rectal injections as mentioned above and also keep ingesting those same oils in a fatty acid. Please note that I prefer to use Coconut oil as it is also a yeast killer.

5.  When done with the Master Cleanse you will probably be able to start a more targeted colon cleanse in order to assist the colon in being able to function better. Start using the Cleansing Trio™ Kit by Young Living Oils. Read the chapter on Colon Cleansing in "Inner Transformation Using Essential Oils." Keep on this cleanse until the mucoid plaque leaves the body.

6.  It is also important to restore the beneficial bacteria in the body. This can be done in by eating fermented foods and taking Life 5™. There are many websites that teach how to ferment your foods online, or you can just buy apple cider vinegar, yogurt, kefir and so forth.. Life 5™ is an amazing probiotic. Balance Complete™ also has pectin in it, which has been shown to feed the beneficial bacteria in the colon.

7.  It may also be necessary to remove metals from the body as you are cleansing with the Cleansing Trio™ Kit.  (Heads up, there will be a new chapter on this subject in the 2nd edition of "Inner Transformations Using Essential Oils" coming out this summer.)

When your body is clean, the inflammation gone and the mucoid plaque removed, slowly introduce foods back into your system. When you want to introduce grains again, start with whole wheat sourdough bread. Making sourdough breaks the gluten down in the bread making it easier to digest and adds a lot of nutrients. Use Essentialzymes-4 to assist you in digesting your food. I would not choose to go back to your old habits of eating as that was probably got you to where you were in the first place.
